EBA has held an online meeting with Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB). The meeting was also attended by Dr.Ahmed El Sokkary, Chairman of Egypt- Romania Business council, Mr. Tarek kashwa – Head of Business Council Unit, Egyptian Commercial Service, Mrs. Lamia Fakhry, Head of Egyptian Commercial Office, Bucharest, with the aim of reactivating the Business Council and advancing the areas of joint cooperation during the next phase, where a number of priority sectors were emphasized, most notably: frozen and fresh foods, sweet potatoes and potatoes, olive oil, ceramics, and information technology. It was also agreed to organize a series of virtual sectoral meetings in sectors of common interest, to be determined by the two sides, in preparation for receiving a delegation of Romanian businessmen, to enhance the cooperation and establish practical and sustainable partnerships between Egyptian and Romanian companies

Representatives from KOTRA explained that their headquarters requested a comprehensive report identifying promising sectors for Korean investment in Egypt, reflecting both government and private sector perspectives. The report will be publicly released to increase awareness among Korean companies about the opportunities available in Egypt and to position Egypt as a strategic manufacturing and investment hub

In the framework of the preparation for the 2026 Global Business Leaders’ Summit and the Belt and Road Industrial and Commercial Alliance (BRICA) Cairo Summit, which will be held this year in Cairo in cooperation between EBA and the China Federation of Industrial Economies (CFIE)—an organization comprising of 35 major industrial and commercial entities from 30 countries—EBA has held several preparatory meetings for the conference.
The Summit coincides with the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Belt and Road Industrial and Commercial Alliance (BRICA), which is considered one of the key international framework stemming from the Belt and Road Initiative. The Association has been a member of BRICA since 2016, as part of its efforts to maximize the benefits of this initiative to support the Egyptian economy

EBA has held a meeting with Mr. Ahmed Farouk, Senior Trade Adviser for Manufacturing, Creative and Digital Industries at the Department for Business and Trade – British Embassy in Cairo. The meeting featured extensive discussions on economic and investment cooperation opportunities between Egypt and the United Kingdom. The bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached approximately GBP 2.9 billion in 2024, including GBP 1.4 billion in Egyptian exports and GBP 1.5 billion in imports from the UK, alongside continued growth in British investments in the Egyptian market
