EBA was founded in 1975 and ratified in 1979 under the law 32/1964. EBA is a non-governmental, non-for-profit organization that seeks to unify the efforts of private Egyptian interests in contributing to the productivity and efficient national economic and social development of Egypt. In order to carry out these duties, EBA had to be in the first place a lobbying power on behalf of the Egyptian business community to protect its interests and enhance the private sector existence

Presently, the Egyptian economy does not act under planned forces but rather under the free market forces. With all these privatization programs and the growing private sector share in the GDP together with the globalization process.

  1. To create a healthy economic environment for the businessmen in order to practice a constructive role in the economic development process.

Sustainable Development Committee Meeting

EBA, headed by Eng. Ali Issa - Chairman of the Board of Directors, held a meeting organized by the Sustainable Development Committee headed by Dr. Nevine Abdel Khaleq - Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee, with Ambassador Nada Al-Agizi - Director of the Department of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation at the League of Arab States, in the presence of Dr. Manal Amin, First Vice President of the Sustainable Development Committee, Dr. Omnia Fahmy, Vice Chairman of the Environment Committee, a group of members of the Assembly, representatives of the business community and representatives of the executive management, with the aim of opening the door for dialogue And the discussion on the efforts of the League of Arab States in achieving sustainable development.

Receiving the Ukrainian Minister of Agricultural and Food Policy to discuss opportunities in investment and intra-trade

EBA has received the Ukrainian Minister of Agricultural and Food Policy, H.E. Mr. Vitaly Koval, and his accompanying delegation during his visit to Egypt, where he discussed with the Chairman of the Egyptian side of Egypt Ukraine Business Council, Mr. Gamal El Aguizy, and the business people the cooperation opportunities between the private sector in the two countries in the fields of agricultural investment, trade and supply. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Egypt, Mr. Mykola Nahornyi, and the delegation included Mr. Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade Representative and Ukrainian side of the Ukrainian-Egyptian Joint Commission for Economic and Scientific Cooperation, and Mr. Serhiy Nakchuk, Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection

Joint meeting between the Committees of Industry and Scientific Research and Economic Legislation

The EBA, headed by Eng. Ali Issa Chairman of the Board of Directors, held a meeting organized by the Industry and Scientific Research Committees headed by Eng. Magd El-Din Al-Manzalawi, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Industry and Scientific Research Committee, and Counselor Bahgat Al-Hosami, Chairman of the Economic Legislation Committee, in the presence of: Dr. Ehab Abdel Raouf - Director of Technological Incubators - Helwan University, and a group of members of the two committees and representatives of the executive management: The floor was opened for dialogue and discussion on: • Local Product Preference Law No. 5 of 2015 and the proposed amendments thereto to be included in the new draft law submitted to the House of Representatives, the expected positive effects when applying the aforementioned law on industry in legislative and applied terms.

Is the member who applied for membership and fulfilled all the conditions and is accepted by EBA board. The original member has the right to attend the General assembly meeting and to nominate himself to be a member in EBA’s board.

The associate member is associated to an original member, he enjoys all the benefits and rights given to the Original member except for the right of attending the General Assembly Meeting and to nominate himself to be a board member.
